Naturally, people have a lot of questions when deciding not only whether or not to learn to fly, but where to learn to fly at. This is where your path forward meets our path forward, and we move forward together.

The purpose of this section, and this entire website, is to assist assist you in getting your flight training process started. Resources For Getting Started

Discovery Flights

You will spend approximately 45 minutes in the air flying with one of our professional flight instructors, who will introduce you to the basics of flying an airplane. You will be given an opportunity to take the controls yourself.

The instructor will also answer any questions about our training programs or general questions about flight training.

Paying For Training

You should consider your education as an investment in your future, because that is essentially what you are doing by pursuing higher education and technical skills for a career. However funding your investment can be difficult, especially if you are living on a fixed income.

Don't be discouraged, there are many options available to you to complete your education. We have prepared a few resources for you to review as part of your consideration.

Do Your Research

While the training provided by flight schools leads to the same plastic pilot license, there is nothing that is the same about how they train you.

It does not matter whether you completed your training under Part 61 or 141, each pilot certificate comes with the same privileges and limitations. There are though significant differences between the knowledge that a school transfers to you that you should consider before selecting your training partner.

Caveat emptor: let the buyer beware! When preparing to make a big decision, gather enough information to make an informed decision. You wouldn't rush into buying a house or a car, or deciding which college to attend or where to apply for a job, would you?

Do I Need a Degree?

This is probably one of the most frequently asked questions that we get from people like you want to become professional pilots, and it is a great question to ask.

The short answer is no, a college degree is not required to apply for or gain employment as a professional airline pilot.

However, there are still many advantages that a college education affords you that should be considered before making the decision to forgo a college education.

First and foremost, you will get hired faster with a college degree! This is true even at regional airlines. Having a college degree can also protect you from the stricter hiring requirements during when the economy slows.

Professional Pilot Program

Professional aviators are in record high demand. Employers are willing to spend significant amounts of money to attract the best and highest qualified candidates.

Professional aviators enjoy some nice perks such flexible work schedules, as many as 18 days off each month, travel benefits to travel the world and generous employer-provided retirement contributions.

Profesional aviators enjoy time off that other sectors cannot provide, allowing you to do more of what you love to do outside of flying.

There is no better time to start that dream career than right now. Boeing predicts that the U.S. airlines will need at least 600,000 pilots in the next 20 years. Will you be one of them?
